Monday 18: Eco Market
Kick off Sustainapalooza at the Eco Market! Featuring stalls from UC's various eco clubs, as well as businesses with sustainability at their core.
Tuesday 19: Bike Day
Experience the new UniCycle route on a tour led by UC Bike. From C Block Lawn the tour will follow the new UniCycle bike route through Hagley Park into town. Have lunch/snack at the Botanic Gardens and return to UC just after 1pm. BYO lunch/snacks.

Travel Planning Clinic
Do you want to work out a more sustainable way to get to uni? Come to this session with CCC, Ecan, Action Bikes and other travel planners and work out how you can do this, with handy tips and lots of giveaways to help make your commute that much more enjoyable!
Love your Leftovers
Love Food Hate Waste from Christchurch City Council will inspire you with some tasty vegetarian meal ideas using leftover food.
Award-winning doco about food waste and dumpster diving – projected using peddle power from the Cycle Cinema. Jump aboard a UCSA Borrow-A-Bike and help play this inspiring film. With help from the team at RAD Bikes, Action Bikes, and the UCSA.
Wednesday 20: Green Building Seminar
A seminar featuring the New Zealand Green Building Council and the UCSA’s own Sustainability champion Jackson White. Find out about latest developments in the Green Building scene, and about a new solar array installed by the UCSA.

Wednesday 20: EWB Duck Race
Take part in the EWB duck race and learn more about fresh water quality on Campus. Prizes for the winning duck, best dressed duck and more! Purchase your duck on the day for $2.

Thursday 21: UC Sustainability Awards Ceremony
Celebrate excellence in sustainability amongst our university community. Who will take away the Supreme Award this year, with an awesome package trip to beautiful Hokitika and a jaw-dropping journey through the Alps in the TranzAlpine train? Come along and find out.

Friday 22: Spring Equinox Gala
UC DigSoc are hosting an evening garden celebration in Okeover Community Garden. Delicious wood-fired pizza and cake will be provided to celebrate the closing of the week, Spring Equinox and Okeover Garden’s 15th year. The awards for the Trash to Treasure sculptures will also be announced. There will be an optional gold coin donation to the garden.

All week - Trash into Treasure Sculpture Competition
Trash into Treasure is a competition showcasing art sculptures created by students from used and recycled materials. There are $500 worth of prizes to be won!
Create a sculpture that relates to sustainable living or waste themes, made from used or recycled materials. You could use absolutely any trash items to create absolutely anything - let your imagination run wild! Entries need to be in by September 11th. See the UCSA website for details.
Sculptures will be showcased the week of Sustainapalooza. Vote for your favourite sculpture. Winners announced at the Spring Equinox Gala on Friday 22 September.
