Support Fairtrade!

The more we support Fairtrade the bigger the impact we make on the lives of small-scale producers in developing countries. With 2 billion people living on less than $2 a day buying Fairtrade helps create a better life for the coffee and cocoa growers, tea pluckers, cotton pickers and banana growers and their families. As well as a guaranteed minimum price, the extra Fairtrade Premium empowers growers to invest in the future for their communities and help themselves out of poverty.

Fair Trade Fortnight 2012 5th-20th May 2012

Fair Trade fortnight is an annual event held nationwide promoting Fair Trade and urging New Zealanders to choose fair. By choosing Fair Trade products, we can make a real difference in the lives of many. Fair Trade allows farmers to pull themselves and their communities out of poverty. Fair Trade is about ensuring a good livelihood for those who produce raw goods like coffee, sugar, tea, cocoa and cotton, it provides long term job stability, fair working conditions and focuses funds on healthcare, education and other aspects of social development for their communities. Fair Trade is a choice to end the injustice in our current trade system that bankrupts and starves farmers in poorer nations. The Fairtrade certification system already benefits 1.2 million farmers and workers, and with your help this can grow even bigger.

Get involved this Fair Trade Fortnight, make the switch to Fair Trade, and learn where your products really come from.
